Great British Beach Clean

Great British Beach Clean

It's time for the 26th Great British Beach Clean, part of the International Coastal Clean Up.

We'll be taking part at Stevenston Beach, alongside the Marine Conservation Society and local volunteer, Ian Cassidy. The event is open to anyone and everyone, so why not come along and help us tidy up this stunning bit of coastline?

Meet at the pavilion at 10:30am, where we will go through a few safety details and provide litter-pickers, gloves and bags. You can also bring your own equipment too.

Please dress appropriately for the weather, be it waterproofs or sun cream (or both!). For more information, including risk assessments, visit the MCS website or email tara.proud@mcsuk.org.

Garnock Connections

Garnock Connections is a suite of 25 projects that will restore a network of wildlife habitats and historic sites across the landscape, as well as encourage local people to become involved through public engagement opportunities.

The initiative will be coordinated by the Garnock Connections Landscape Partnership, which is made up of RSPB Scotland (lead partner), North Ayrshire Council, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), and the Scottish Wildlife Trust, with Historic Environment Scotland (HES) acting as an advisory body.

Garnock Connections has been supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
